Cheetah Mom Welcomes 7 Cubs for Second Time
Mom Vaila is doing well after welcoming the septuplets two months ago, according to the Metro Richmond Zoo, which only recently announced the cubs' birth.
A cheetah in Virginia gave birth to seven cubs, the second time she's welcomed a litter of that size.
Mom Vaila is doing well after welcoming the septuplets two months ago, according to the Metro Richmond Zoo, which only recently announced the cubs' birth.
"This is a very special birth to us because not only is it a big boost for cheetah conservation by increasing the captive population, but also a cheetah having [seven] cubs at once only happens 1 percent of the time!" the zoo said in a statement.
Though a normal cheetah litter is about three to four cubs, it seems like Vaila's got a knack for multiples. As it turns out, Vaila already popped out seven cubs back in 2016.
