Life jackets have been found in the search for two boys who vanished on a fishing trip nearly two weeks ago.
Austin Stephanos and Perry Cohen, both 14, disappeared near Jupiter, Florida after they went on a boat trip on July 24.
When their capsized boat was found two days later, items - including life jackets - were missing. It led some to believe the boys could have survived falling into the water.
But on Tuesday, a helicopter from Heli Aviation in Sarasota came across two life jackets in a marshy area off the coast of Savannah, Georgia, WFLA reported. They spotted one in the low tide before finding another nearby.
They shared video of the discovery to Facebook.
A video to show everyone out there of how the entire area looks from above and how tough the terrain is to get to. Considering that the life vest recovery was during low tide it was only accessible by air. (Note: We do NOT confirm that the life vests shown on the video are the correct ones and just have to wait for a statement by the SAR teams). As far as we know they have a K9 unit on its way to confirm!Posted by Heli Aviation on Tuesday, 4 August 2015
It is unclear if the jackets belong to the two boys.
Heli Aviation has been searching for signs of them since the Coast Guard called off its search last Friday.
Rachel Trimpe from the private company said searchers noticed the life jackets because they were not as faded as other items near the shore.
"Hopefully it leads to something, it brings some closure to the family, I hope," she told WFLA.
A search team with dogs is now heading to the area to look for any sign of the teens.
The family has launched a Gofundme page to raise money for private searches.
