Polly Wants a Conviction? Parrot That Says 'Don't F***ing Shoot' May Hold the Key to Murder Case

Bud, an African grey parrot, is believed to have witnessed the murder of his owner.

The parrot may know whodunnit.

The foul-mouthed pet, named Bud, may be the key witness in the murder of his owner  so thinks the family of the victim.

Martin Duram, 45, was shot five times in his Sand Lake, Michigan, home last year in what police initially thought was a double homicide. His wife, Glenna, had been shot in the head, but was actually still alive, investigators discovered about an hour later.

A few weeks after the shooting, Bud began squawking in voices that sounded like a man and a woman arguing, according to Duram’s ex-wife, Christina Keller, who now has custody of the bird.

A video taken by Duram’s family shows the 20-year-old bird yelling “Don’t f***ing shoot!” It then switches to a higher-pitched voice, imitating Glenna Durham, according to the victim’s family.

“That bird picks up everything and anything, and it’s got the filthiest mouth around,” mom Lillian Durham told WOOD-TV.

No one has been arrested in connection with the May 2015 case. Duram’s widow has since fully recovered from her injuries.

Police consider her a suspect, the station reported. She denies killing her husband and says she has no memory of the shooting.

The local prosecutor says he has not heard the video taken by Duram’s relatives.

Keller has established a Facebook page titled “Justice for Marty Durham,” to raise awareness of the case.
