Luke Perry's Daughter Reveals Late Actor Was Buried in Mushroom Suit

Luke Perry's daughter shared an emotional post on Instagram Saturday, revealing that her father was buried in an eco-friendly mushroom suit.
Sophie Perry said that the late actor discovered the alternate burial method and "was more excited by this than I have ever seen him." She added that being buried in the suit was "one of his final wishes."
A mushroom burial suit is an eco-friendly method of burying a dead body. The suit is biodegradable, made of mushrooms and other organisms that help in decomposition. As the body is decomposed by the mushrooms and the toxins are neutralized, nutrients are transferred into the soil and plant life.
"Now, mushrooms hold an entirely new meaning for me," Sophie wrote in her post. She called mushroom burial suits "truly a beautiful thing for this beautiful planet."
The "Riverdale" actor was hospitalized late last month after suffering a massive stroke. He died on March 4 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Sophie was in Malawi doing charity work when she got the news that her father had suffered the stroke. The 18-year-old jumped on a plane for a 20-hour flight from the African country to Los Angeles and made it just in time to say farewell to her father.
Luke's fiancee was also by his side when he died.
