Animals Seek Shelter as Huge Hail Falls on Colorado Zoo

August 7, 2018

It was a terrifying scene for animals and humans alike at a zoo in Colorado as hail pummeled them Monday. A bear was trying to take cover as giant hailstones the size of baseballs rained down at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs. There were 3,000 guests who had to run for cover as well. Nine people were treated for injuries at the zoo but five others had such serious injuries they had to be hospitalized. A duck and a vulture were struck and killed by the hail.
