What Is Parechovirus and Why Can It Be Deadly?

The Delancey family is warning other parents to be on the lookout for symptoms of a potentially deadly disease in small children called parechovirus. “It can look like the child has what we call sepsis, which is a very severe infection. And it can also be associated with meningitis, which is basically an inflammation of the lining that surrounds the brain,” Dr. Rick Malley, Infectious Diseases, Boston Children's Hospital told CBS News.
