Ring doorbell cameras are everywhere, capturing everything from terrifying break-ins, to creepy peeping toms and brazen porch pirates. Now, Ring, which is owned by Amazon, has a new app called Neighbors, which can connect every Ring camera installed in the neighborhood to each other with real-time crime alerts — as long as the homeowners consent. Some think it’s a great way to cut down crime. But some privacy advocates say it’s a “privacy disaster in the making.”
