Drowning Horse Rescued From Pond

“Drowning and exhausted,” is how the Florida’s Alachua County Sheriff’s department described a horse they saved from a retention pond. Authorities say they received a call asking them to help the animal in distress. Members of Alachua County Fire and Rescue got into the pond to stabilize the horse and hold his head above water. They created a harness out of a strap that was six inches wide, and together hauled the horse onto dry land. The horse has reunited with its family and appeared to have no injuries.
