Former NASA Astronaut Ed Lu Wants to Protect the Earth From Killer Asteroids

Dr. Ed Lu is a former NASA astronaut who flew two space shuttle missions and also did a six-month tour on the International Space Station. Now Lu devotes his energies to trying to save the planet from catastrophic space dangers. He leads the Asteroid Institute, an organization, he told InsideEdition.com, "dedicated to protecting the Earth from being hit by large asteroids." The key, said Lu, is "finding them first."
