‘Friends’ Actor Michael Rappaport Tried to Bust Alleged Shoplifter in New York

Actor Michael Rappaport says he witnessed a brazen shoplifter fill garbage bags with loot from a New York City drug store and stroll out right past the security guard, who did nothing about it. Rappaport, best known for his recurring role as Phoebe’s detective boyfriend on "Friends," recorded the incident. He was so incensed that he followed the alleged shoplifter out of the store, giving a running commentary. He sent the video to the city’s new mayor, Eric Adams.
