Georgia Comic Artist Patrick Dean Draws With His Eyes After ALS Diagnosis

After he was diagnosed with ALS in 2018, comic artist Patrick Dean lost his ability to hold a pen or pencil. He had to adapt, and learned to use ‘eyegaze’ technology to create work with the movements of his eyes. “For Patrick to take to this format, and create work that is still recognizable as Patrick Dean, is absolutely amazing,” friend Robert Newsome told Inside Edition Digital. Now, Patrick’s friends have created a GoFundMe campaign to help the Athens, Georgia, artist and his family.
