How ‘The Matrix’ Influenced Fashion and Changed Filmmaking

Twenty years ago, “The Matrix” stormed into theaters and changed not just filmmaking but also pop culture. Then in 2003, the film’s sequels, “The Matrix: Reloaded” and “The Matrix: Revolutions” arrived within six months of each other. The influence the trilogy had on everyday life was evident in stores as clothing brands sold items inspired by the franchise, including sunglasses, all-black leather outfits and trench coats.
