Toddlers Rescued From Fire in Brooklyn Apartment Building

NYPD officers helped evacuate children and families from a building on fire. Authorities say the officers were on patrol in the area when they smelled smoke. They called for the fire department but immediately started to help residents of the 22-story building get outside to safety. The New York Fire Department said one person was sent to the hospital with serious injuries. Eleven other people sustained non-life threatening injuries.
