    Northeast to Face Historic Low Temperatures

    The record-cold weather is wreaking havoc from Montana to Maine. On Mount Washington in New Hampshire, the windchill is expected to feel like 100 degrees below zero. With these historic low temperatures in the northeast, exposed skin can become frostbitten in seconds. It's so cold it's leading to a natural phenomenon known as frost quakes. That's when water underground freezes, expands and makes a small explosion sound.
