Palm Worms Are a Nutritious Delicacy for Cultures in Cameroon and Brazil

Palm worms, also known as white worms or fos, are something of a delicacy in the areas where they appear. They can grow up to become undesirable palm weevils, but until then, they’re a nutrient-rich treat for some traditional cultures. Harvested from the bark of palm trees, palm worms can be eaten raw, or grilled. They’re said to taste a bit like cheese, or shrimp, and are good sources of protein, iron, calcium and several vitamins.
