April 11, 2024

Rosie the Riveter, and all the women who played her role, were awarded a Congressional Gold Medal. During WWII, about six million women joined the war effort by filling jobs usually reserved for young men. They worked in agriculture, in offices and in manufacturing. The living Rosies are in their late 90s and 100s now. More than two dozen Rosies attended the ceremony in Washington, D.C. honoring their service to their country.
