Harvard Study Says Yoga Helps Seniors With Balance

A new study says yoga can help older people stay strong. Researchers from Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School say regular yoga practice reduces frailty in older adults. Geriatrician Dr. Julia Loewenthal is the study’s lead author. She says the findings show yoga can positively affect frailty markers like balance, strength, grip strength and the ability to walk. Doctors recommend finding a certified instructor, ideally someone who has experience working with older people.
