Are Some COVID Patients Not Taking Paxlovid?

Paxlovid was hailed as the breakthrough treatment for COVID-19 when it was first approved in December 2021. Along with mass vaccinations, Paxlovid was credited with helping to end the pandemic. However, with COVID-19 deaths spiking once again there's concern that some patients who need Paxlovid are refusing to take it. A new study says only 15% of COVID-19 patients take Paxlovid. If more had taken the drug, an estimated 48,000 lives would have been saved.
