Tiffany Haddish is stirring up controversy by promising to wear fur as much as she can until "police stop killing black people."

The actress made the statement in a video she posted on Instagram Sunday to show off a fur vest given to her by a fan.

“I’mma wear fur every day until they stop killing black people," Haddish said. When the police stop killing black people, I’ll stop wearing fur. It’s my new protest."

Haddish went on to apologize to PETA, but stood by the decision, emphasizing that people matter too.

"So sorry, PETA! Don’t be mad at me," Haddish continued. "Be mad at the police. When they stop killing black people, I’ll stop wearing fur … Because people are important, and so are the animals."

The video, which has been viewed more than a million times on Instagram, has sparked plenty of outrage.

"so killing more animals will solve this issue will it? Well done ... this really is making a difference," one person commented, along with a thumbs-up emoji.

"I honestly feel so sad for you!" said another. "Know one cares about your fur coat, it doesn’t make u look good, %100 with you that cops abuse their power and f*** up, but this isn’t the answer, you are not making a difference at all to the world! Your just embarrassing yourself!"

But many defended her.

"I think the point she’s trying to make are Animal lives are valued more than Black human lives in this country, and that’s a problem," a third person wrote. "The same compassion and passion in these comments for Animals, where is that same passion for Human Beings (Particularly African Americans) who are being killed at the hands of Police."

A fourth added: "She said NOTHING wrong here ! The delivery could of been better. But I get what she is saying! Her point is proven by the looks of the comments. Human lives don’t matter as much as fur."
