Woman Charged With DUI After Allegedly Riding Horse Down Busy Highway While Drunk

Her blood-alcohol level was reportedly twice the legal limit.
One woman put a new twist on a DUI when she was caught allegedly riding a horse down a busy Florida highway while intoxicated, police said.
Authorities said they found Donna Byrne, 53, riding her horse on the road after a passerby called 911 about a woman who seemed “confused” and was possibly in danger.
Polk County Sheriff's officials said they gave Byrne a sobriety test and found her blood-alcohol level was.161 - twice the legal limit.
Byrne was then charged with DUI and animal neglect for endangering and failing to provide proper protection for the horse.
Authorities said they took the horse to the Polk County Sheriff's Animal Control livestock facility. Byrne was booked in the Polk County Jail.
