The Worst Movie of 2018? 'Holmes & Watson' Universally Panned

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly's comedic take on Sherlock Holmes has people walking out of theaters across America.

“Holmes & Watson” is being called the worst movie of the year.

The film, starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, offers a comedic take on the famous detective duo, but apparently no one is laughing. It got a zero rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is being slammed by critics.

“'Holmes & Watson' is so painfully unfunny we're not sure it can legally be called a comedy,” wrote Rolling Stone.

The film’s stars have been box office gold together in movies like 2008’s “Step Brothers,” which grossed over $128 million, and 2006’s “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby," which earned $163 million.

But “Holmes & Watson” has been a dud, taking home just $6 million for the Christmas holiday, a time that usually sees higher profits for studios.

People have been literally walking out of the film midway and posting scathing reviews on social media.

"Holmes and Watson possibly the worse film I’ve seen. Walked out the cinema,” was one comment on Twitter.

“Just walked out of Holmes and Watson 15 minutes in,” was another Twitter comment.

“Here's a tip to save you a few bucks. #HolmesAndWatson don't see it. It was so bad. Half the theater walked out during it,” said a third.

The film was not screened for critics prior to its release.
