82-Year-Old 'Star Trek' Actress Joins NASA Mission After Stroke
Three months after suffering a stroke, 82-year-old actress Nichelle Nichols is headed to the edge of space.
Nichols, who famously played Lieutenant Uhura on TV's Star Trek, is bravely going where few have gone before. She’s heading on a NASA mission.
“It's like a dream come true,” she told INSIDE EDITION.
“I am so excited,” she said.
Nichols already has a theme song for her expedition.
“Fly me to the moon and let me play among the stars,” she sang, reciting the lyrics from one of Frank Sinatra’s most famous songs.
