Glittery, Metallic Gowns Dominate Emmy Fashion

The sweltering weather didn’t stop the stars from heating up the Emmy red carpet.

One of the big trends of the night was glittery metallic gowns.

Fashion reporter Suzanne Marques told INSIDE EDITION: “Keri Washington was head to toe sequins, which to me was my favorite. It had a flounce to it, but it was also sequin so it wasn't too heavy. To me she kind of stole the night because it was so different and unusual.”

Sofia Vergara is getting high marks for her curve clinging dress by St. John. But her best accessory was her hunky fiancé Joe Manganiello.

Marques said: “Sofia Vergara looked stunning, it was very metallic, it was beautiful, she looked like a statue.”

Some celebs tried to keep cool in soft, flowy, and sheer fabrics.

Heidi Klum’s canary yellow dress got mixed reviews. Some critics compared the outfit to big bird -- but our expert is giving Heidi big thumbs up.

She was in this gorgeous Versace, but it was almost barely there. It was such a light fabric it was see through in places, it was breezy it was perfect,” said Marques.

Taraji P. Henson was a steamy stunner in a custom gown by Alexander Wang.

Fashion expert Lawrence Zarian told INSIDE EDITION: “Taraji P. Henson beautiful in black and I love the chain detailing around the neck. We saw her underpants basically.

Following a trend, Claire Danes’ sequin-Prada gown also had chain link straps.

Mad Men's Christina Hendricks accentuated her curves in a dress by Naeem Khan.

Zarian said: “Christina Hendricks got it right on the red carpet. She brought the girls out. The dress was gold and black and beaded and form fitting.”

Some might call this a fashion don't -- but for The Good Wife's Alan Cumming, Crocs are a fashion do.

He told INSIDE EDITION’s Jim Moret: “I love Crocs -- the new formal wear.”
