Jessa Duggar-Seewald had just given birth to her first child, a baby boy, at the family home in Arkansas.

But the new mom had to be rushed to the hospital after laboring to deliver her son for 48 hours, she told People magazine.

Duggar-Seewald's mother, Michelle, called 911, telling the dispatcher that the “mother was bleeding after birth” and “there was quite a bit of blood when the placenta detached.”

Duggar-Seewald underwent a blood transfusion, she said.

“It was very intense. Very long everything was different than I expected everyone stayed calm,” she said.
