Police are hunting a man they say grabbed a jogger by her hair and dragged her into a secluded area of a New York park, where he raped her.
The 26-year-old woman was jogging in East River Park near Jackson Street at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when a man on a bicycle approached her and motioned for her to be quiet, police said.
The woman turned around and started to run away but the man grabbed her hair, put his arm around her throat and pulled her into an amphitheater, cops said.
He raped her in the amphitheater and then fled with the woman's cell phone and credit card.
The woman was taken to Beth Israel Hospital where she was treated and released.
The suspect went to a deli, where he was caught on surveillance footage using the woman's credit card, police said. Police released detailed footage of the man, who is said to be in his twenties.
