Ice Cube Responds to Oscars Snub: I Thought We'd Get More

'Straight Outta Compton' is nominated for Best Original Screenplay.

Last year the Oscars were criticized for the lack of diversity among the acting nominees and this year is no different.

Among the 20 nominees up for awards in acting categories, not a single actor or actress is a person of color.

INSIDE EDITION’s Jim Moret spoke with Oscars producer Reginald Hudlin who declared: “I'm disappointed for them all, all. We have a problem.”

Straight Outta Compton, the film about the rise of the iconic rap group, NWA, did get a nomination for original screenplay. One of the film's producers, Ice Cube, was on The Wendy Williams Show on Thursday.

She said: “I thought you guys would get more.”

“Me too,” he admitted.

The host asked: “Are you pissed?”

“I'm not pissed, I’m not surprised; it's the Oscars. The people love the movie, number one at the box office worldwide, I can't be mad,” he said.

The awards show will be hosted this year by comedian Chris Rock, who last year labeled Hollywood a "white industry."

Writing for The Hollywood Review, the comedian opined: " But how many black men have you met working in Hollywood? They don't really hire black men. A black man with bass in his voice and maybe a little hint of facial hair? Not going to happen. It is what it is. I'm a guy who's accepted it all."

The 88th annual Academy Awards will be held at Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre and aired live on ABC on Sunday, February 28.
