Son of Slain Real Estate Agent Speaks After Killer Gets Life in Prison: 'We Got Justice'

Beverly Carter's son, Carl, was in court as his mom's killer was sentenced for her death.

The son of a murdered real estate agent tells INSIDE EDITION he was "infuriated" listening to his mother's killer lie in court about having consensual sex with her.

"I was mad, infuriated, that someone would make those allegations, and then I had this fear that people might actually believe that and her beautiful legacy would be tarnished," said Carl Carter Jr.

His mother, Beverly Carter, was killed after she showed a house to Arron Lewis and his then-wife, Crystal Lowery.

Lewis was convicted Friday in Arkansas of murder and kidnapping. He was then sentenced to two life sentences without parole, to be served consecutively.

"Thank goodness we got justice," her son told IE.

Lowery was sentenced to 30 years in prison last year after agreeing to testify against her former husband.

The couple kidnapped the 50-year-old real estate agent as she showed them a house in Scott, Arkansas. They said they intended to hold her for ransom.

But their plan went wrong after Carter suffocated because her entire head had been covered in duct tape, authorities said.

She was buried in a shallow grave behind a concrete factory and was found five days after she disappeared.

Lewis wrote a detailed, 17-page handwritten confession saying "I covered the whole front of the face in six-inch strips of tape ... every part of her face was covered with a mask of tape."
