Police Community Support Officer Mike Ober was on foot patrol when he entered an open door at the club in Bradford-on-Avon, according to the BBC.

There, he was greeted by women celebrating a 50th birthday who “went wild with excitement” when they saw him, the BBC reported. They thought Ober was the male entertainment for the night.

Ober, who is in his mid-20s, told the BBC: "Someone shouted: 'Oh, are you the stripogram?'"

As he left the venue, the real stripper arrived.

"It's a matter of personal taste, but the uniforms aren't very flattering, so I guess [the mix-up] is flattering," he said.

A Police Community Support Officer is not the same as a regular cop. “They patrol a beat and interact with the public, while also offering assistance to police officers at crime scenes and major events,” according to a recruitment website.
