Ex-Fox News Reporter Arrested on Rape and Forcible Sodomy Charges: Cops

A former TV news reporter has been arrested following his indictment on sexual assault charges.

Orlando Salinas, who until last year reported for WDBJ7 in Roanoke, Virginia, faces charges of forcible sodomy and rape, according to an indictment.

Previously a Miami correspondent for Fox News, the 55-year-old parted ways with the station in his home state in the spring of 2015.

The alleged assault, which reportedly involved a woman who was not Salinas' wife, occurred in January. He was arrested Tuesday.

Per local reports, Salinas had a reputation for a confrontational style as a reporter that attracted some and repulsed others.

In their own report on the former employee's arrest, WDBJ wrote that Salinas "was released by the station due to insubordination in April of 2015."

Salinas told Roanoke at the time that he and management "have a difference of opinion as far as what news should be."

After leaving WDBJ, Salinas walked away from TV news altogether. He is currently listed as a realtor at Re/Max in his native Blacksburg, Virginia.
