Comedian Amy Schumer says her Comedy Central show, Inside Amy Schumer, has actually not been canceled.
Fans apparently got the wrong idea when she tweeted “there is no show” earlier this week.
The 'Trainwreck' star was actually talking about a writer on the show who was accused of making misogynistic comments about sexual assault on Twitter.
“I have no plans for the TV show to comeback in the near future. So, nobody is on my staff. There are no writers,” she said.
She has now clarified those remarks, saying:
Doing Standup and focusing on writing more for the next year at least. We are slated for a season 5 but not in the foreseeable future.— Amy Schumer (@amyschumer) August 18, 2016
It was speculated earlier this week that animal rights activists force Schumer to cancel two stops of her new book tour after protesters in New York would not let her get a word in at a Barnes & Noble appearance.
They were reportedly fuming after she was photographed last winter wearing a snuggly coat supposedly lined with coyote fur. Her reps said the coat was a gift and she has stopped wearing it.
Her publisher said the book signing events, one on Long Island and the other in Naperville, Illinois, were canceled because the comedy star wasn't feeling well.
Her book, The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo, was released August 16.
