"It's been a very heavy secret to hold for so many years,” she told Good Morning America.

The 32-year-old said her first husband tried to murder her after months of domestic abuse.

“He would come home from a night out at the club and literally take me out of my bed and throw me on to the ground,” she said. He told her he was going to kill her, she said.

One night in 2005, she said he almost strangled her to death. “When we were struggling, he was choking me. I see everything. I see my mom, I see my funeral,” she said.

“I literally had that flash of my whole life, and I remember I screamed out my mother's name and that's the last thing I remember.”

She told Inside Edition backstage, "I hope she watches back one day, and is really proud of us."

Meanwhile, Olympian Ryan Lochte's dance celebrated the year he won gold for the first time in 2008.
