A recording of the national anthem was supposed to play on the sound system prior to the game, but it malfunctioned. That's when 17-year-old senior Marina Garcia grabbed a microphone and started singing.

She told Inside Edition: “Everyone just started cheering at me to sing.”

She said she was nervous at first.

“When they were telling me to do it, I was kind of like, 'no,' because I'm so shy and then I felt like, 'you know what? I'm just going to do it,'” she said.

She received a massive standing ovation and said, “it's a feeling I’ll never forget.”
