The people behind the Honda Super Bowl commercial that has charmed America are opening up about how they brought the high school photos of celebrities to life.

Jason Sperling of RPA, the ad agency that produced the memorable ad for Super Bowl Sunday, has let the secret out.

"We shot our celebrities doing their lines, we had a camera right in front of their face," Sperling said of the process. "Afterwards, we used a 3D camera to get all of their head in addition to their high school yearbook photo and merge them together."

The commercial featured Tina Fey, Robert Redford, Magic Johnson, Viola Davis, Steve Carell and Amy Adams, among others.

But what about the people pictured adjacent to the celebs? They were not their actual classmates, but actors and models who gave their permission to use their old high school photo, or posed for new ones.
