After the release of the film Friday, many were quick to point out that Heigl's look has strong similarities to that of the first daughter, and those who noticed were quick to point it out on social media.

One Twitter user wrote: "is it just me, or did the folks behind unforgettable make up Katherine Heigl to look like Ivanka Trump?"

Another said: "In the preview for the new Katherine Heigl movie all I see is Ivanka Trump."

The Huffington Post noted that Heigl's "chic wardrobe" and "icy blond locks" could best be described as "Ivana Trump-esque."

Unforgettable, which also stars Rosario Dawson, grossed $4.8 million over its opening weekend.

The comparison comes as a new Vanity Fair article claims the first daughter’s high profile role at the White House is sparking tension with her stepmother, first lady Melania Trump.

The article: "Inside The Trump's Marriage: Melania's Burden" quotes sources who have observed a "frostiness" between Trump’s third wife and his eldest daughter.

The article goes on to suggest that the first lady is unhappy as her husband is in Washington.

"Melania's unhappiness and the couple's apparent lack of closeness are becoming more noticeable. Despite assurances from her spokesperson that Melania is embracing the role of first lady, most signs point to a distinct lack of interest,” the article said.
