Video has surfaced of former President Jimmy Carter shaking hands with every passenger aboard a Delta flight bound for Washington, D.C.

In the video, shot June 8 by passenger James Parker Sheffield and posted to his Twitter page, the former president can be seen walking down the aisle greeting shocked passengers one by one while flanked by a Secret Service agent.

Carter, 92, who beat cancer in 2015, was traveling from his hometown of Atlanta to Washington to attend the funeral of his national security adviser, Zbigniew Brzezinski, according to The Associated Press.

“Delta is always proud to fly former President Carter,” Delta spokesman Morgan Durrant told USA Today. “His taking the time to shake hands with fellow customers is a magnanimous gesture consistent with his decades of public and philanthropic service."
