A couple of curious monkeys in China have made friends with a mouse.

The monkeys were in their natural habitat at Emei Mountain when they came across the rodent and began playfully pulling on its tail.

Video taken by tourists of the encounter shows the monkeys foraging for corn when they spot the mouse, but don't appear angered by its presence. In fact, they allow it.

Workers at the park said they've never seen that happen before.

"The mouse entered the monkey’s foraging area to eat corns, but the monkeys did not attack it," said Zhou Chuanbin, a manager at the scenic spot of Emei Mountain. "I guess it was just an odd case and a coincidence."
