Sarah Palin is bashing President Obama's decision to appear on The View, via Twitter. INSIDE EDITION has more.
There is fallout from President Obama's historic appearance on The View.
Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin scoffed at his appearance in a tweet: "President w/no time to visit porous US/Mexican border to offer help to those risking life to secure us, but lotso' time to chat on The View?"
And View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck told Fox News Channel's Sean Hannity she was disappointed by the president's laidback manner:
"My problem is the sort of cavalier approach to what is going that we did see a little bit of on the show. I wanted a little bit more grit."
But The Washington Post's Howard Kurtz says The View was a wise choice for the President.
"It was a good conversation about race, about his record on unemployment, [there was] a question about Afghanistan. It's not supposed to be Meet the Press, that's why it was more interesting," Kurtz tells INSIDE EDITION.
But it's not just his appearance on The View that is sparking controversy.
In a press conference in the Rose Garden last week, the President stood hand-in-hand with a jobless woman said to be an example of deserving Americans who need unemployment benefits extended.
"We need to pass it for women like Leslie Macko, who lost her job at a fitness center last year," said President Obama.
But it turns out Leslie Macko was convicted of prescription drug fraud a month before she was let go last year.
"Had that type of information been known she would not have participated in the event here," White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters.
But a former Secret Service agent tells INSIDE EDITION someone on the White House staff has to have known.
"At the White House you will definitely have a criminal history check," says Scott Alswang. "That agent is going to see that the staff knows that there will be a convicted felon that is going to be standing next to President Obama."
