EXCLUSIVE: 'Price is Right' Model Who Accidentally Gave Away A Car Says 'I was mortified!'
This was one expensive mistake.
A Price Is Right contestant tried to guess the price of a new car.
Host Drew Carey asked, "Which one is it?"
The contestant answered, "$19,849."
Then, model Manuela Arbelaez pulled the second tag, accidentally revealing the winning price before the contestant could maker her second guess. Manuela tried to put the tag back, but it was too late.
The contestant exclaimed, "I won it!"
Drew Carey said, "Congratulations, Manuela just gave you a car."
Arbelaez was so embarassed, she actually hid behind the game board!
And now, she's reliving her big boo boo with INSIDE EDITION's Jim Moret.
"I was mortified," said Arbelaez.
Moret said, "You see the shock on your face. Tell me what happened."
"I was on autopilot. After I heard the buzz I thought, okay, the game was over. What I didn't realize was that she had two more chances," admitted Arbelaez.
The Colombian beauty has been with the show for six years and nothing like this has ever happened before. We just had to ask if she got into trouble at work.
Arbelaez said, "I thought, A: This is my last day at work. B: They're going to take it out of my paycheck every week. I thought that was it for me."
While she did admit, "It's the biggest mistake I ever made on the show," she also said, "Drew could not have been more supportive. Same with the producers. They embraced it and said, 'We're not going to pick it out. We're going to air it as it happened."
Thanks to her oops moment, the contestant walked away with a free car.
Arbelaez replied, "I obviously made a very expensive mistake, but I made someone happy."
