Girl Freaks Out When a Manatee Approaches Her While Swimming
'I could die out here.'
Caroline Winch had the scare of her life when a wild manatee began swimming near her while vacationing in Florida with her girlfriends.
The teen remained swimming in the lake while all her friends were already on the boat and they were watching in shock when they saw their friend freaking out. Her reactions were all captured on video using a selfie stick and it is truly hilarious.
INSIDE EDITION spoke to Caroline about what happened, “It was really big, it was a lot bigger than I thought. It was like very large, I was thinking it had teeth and I was starting to think it’s a shark’s cousin, it could hurt me. I could die out here, my mom would not see me again, I was very nervous.”
Manatees are endangered animals and are herbivorous mammals by nature, so it was probably just searching for some plant life to eat in the waters. But we can’t say that we wouldn’t have the same reaction to such a large animal being so close to us.
People always seem to get animated with wild animals getting uncomfortably close, watch the video below to see what happened when a lion opened a car door at a drive through safari park!
