Caroline Giuliani Busted at Sephora

INSIDE EDITION has the details of Rudy Guiliani's 20-year-old daughter being arrested for shoplifting in a New York cosmetics store.

The daughter of former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani left a police station after being busted for shoplifting.

20-year-old Caroline Giuliani was arrested for allegedly stealing about $100 worth of cosmetics from a Sephora store in New York City.  Curiously she had more than $300 on her at the time.

Staff at the cosmetics store reportedly watched Caroline Giuliani's shoplifting spree on security cameras.

Among the items she's accused of stealing?  Dior skin primer, bliss moisturizer, and aqua cream makeup.

When staff at the store learned that the accused shoplifter was the daughter of Rudy Giuliani, they reportedly decided they did not want to press charges. But at that point she was already under arrest, and the decision on whether to prosecute now lies with the district attorney's office.

Caroline Giuliani is a student at Harvard and spends time with her mother, Rudy's ex-wife, Donna Hanover.

Jeff Gardere, a clinical psychologist, said, "This may be the wakeup call for her, that she has to address some of her issues, and walking into a store and shoplifting is not the way to actually get an answer for what I see as a cry for help."

Caroline Giuliani raised eyebrows in 2008 when she snubbed her father, then the top Republican Presidential contender, by backing Barack Obama for President.

Rudy Giuliani, who was famous for cracking down on crime in his time at City Hall, called his daughter's arrest "a personal matter."

There have been other shoplifting arrests of people in the public eye.

Actress Winona Ryder, of course, was busted for stealing from a Saks store in Los Angeles.  Gymnast Olga Korbut was also arrested for shoplifting. Now, Giuliani's daughter joins the walk of shame.

The shoplifting charge against Caroline Giuliani is a misdemeanor and she is due back in court later this month.
