INSIDE EDITION talks to one JetBlue passenger who witnessed Steven Slater in action and she says he is not a hero, but was a "jerk" from the beginning of the flight.
"Rude." "Petulant." "A diva." That's how some of the passengers are describing fed-up flight attendant-turned-folk-hero Steven Slater, well before his infamous airplane freak out.
Actress Lauren Wood witnessed Slater's meltdown first hand. She says he was showing off some seriously bizarre behavior throughout the entire flight.
INSIDE EDITION's Megan Alexander asked Wood, "What is your reaction to hearing people call Steven Slater a hero?"
"It makes me so mad. He's not a hero. He was rude," said Wood.
Alexander asked, "What happened when you tried to order a drink from him?"
Wood said, "He came up and had a bunch of sodas in his hand and said 'do you want a soda?' I said, 'Can I have a water?' and he just glares at me and walked away. And I was kind of like, oh gosh I upset this guy."
Other fliers say Slater "bumped into passengers without apologizing."
He is also said to have "dramatically flung aside a life jacket and oxygen mask after giving a demonstration."
And get this, Wood says she noticed a bloody gash on Slater's forehead the moment she stepped onboard the plane in Pittsburgh.
"He already had a cut on his head and it was bleeding and one gentelman I heard him ask, 'Are you okay, what happened?' and he just said, 'Oh you wont believe the day that I had.' And that was at the very beginning of the flight when I boarded."
Alexander asked, "So that cut on his head was not caused by the passenger's bag falling on him?"
"No, not at all," said Wood.
Slater is claiming the gash seen around the world came about during a dispute with an unidentified passenger about overhead luggage.
Wood said she watched in total disbelief as the flight attendant escaped down the plane's emergency shoot when the plane landed at JFK airport.
"I stopped and watched from the jet bridge as he took his roller bag said 'I don't care. Screw this. I'm out of here,' jumped down the slide and walked off the jetway. I have to say, I was in a fit of giggles cause I was like, when does this ever happen? How insane that I am here witnessing this," said Wood.
Jet blue is now offering a $100 credit to each passenger on Slater's flight.
And federal investigators are reportedly trying to track down all of the plane's passengers who were seated in rows 6 through 9 for their accounts of what happened.
Slater's brazen bail out continues to win admirers. He has more than 180,000 fans on his Facebook tribute page. But this passenger isn't one of them.
"I'm so mad that he's becoming this Facebook hero and everyone is supporting him and is so proud he stuck it to the man. I don't wanna be rude, but he was a jerk. That's your job buddy and a thousand other people do it every day with no problem," said Wood.
