Engineer Identified in Amtrak Tragedy, Lawyer Says He Was 'Distraught As He Learned of Devastation'
The engineer who was driving the fatal Amtrak train when it derailed has been identified.
The engineer driving the train that derailed in Philadelphia has been identified as 32-year-old Queens, New York, resident Brandon Bostian.
Authorities say Bostian was clocked at 106 miles-per-hour, twice the speed limit. He used the emergency brake in a desperate attempt to slow down in time but it was too late.

His attorney Robert Geogahn, appeared on Good Morning America and said Bostian had not been not drinking or texting.
He said, “No drinking, no drugs, no medical condition. Nothing. The last thing he recalls is coming to, looking for his bag, turning on his cell phone and calling 911. He was distraught as he learned of the devastation. He was distraught.”
INSIDE EDITION is learning more about the passengers who were killed in the tragic crash.
Justin Zemser, a 20-year- old midshipman at the Naval Academy, was returning home to Rockaway Beach.
His mother said, “He was absolutely wonderful. Everybody looked up to my son. What else can i say?”
Abid Gilani, was a Senior Vice President of Wells Fargo bank in New York. He was married with two children.
Rachel Jacobs, just named the CEO of an internet startup, was a 39-year-old mother of a two year old child who lived on the Lower East Side.
"This is an unthinkable tragedy. Rachel was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, wife and friend,” her family said in a statement.
Forty-two-year-old Derrick Griffith was a dean at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn and a former high school principal.
And Jim Gaines, a 46-year-old father of two, worked for Associated Press online.

Still missing is Bob Gildersleeve, a businessman from Baltimore. His 13-year-old son posted a heartbreaking video online in a desperate attempt to find his dad.

In the video he said, “My name is Marc Gildersleeve please help me find my dad if you know anything.”
