Miss Mexico took home the crown last night as the new Miss Universe. INSIDE EDITION reports from backstage to get the latest reactions.
It's official—Miss Mexico is the most beautiful woman in the universe!
22-year-old Jimena Navarrete was crowned Miss Universe in Las Vegas Monday night.
Millions of viewers around the world tuned-in to watch her dazzle in a sparkly lavender bikini! Walking the catwalk to Elvis music. It is Vegas afterall.
Miss Jamaica was runner up, followed by Miss Australia. Miss Ukraine came in fourth place and Miss Phillipines rounded out the top five.
It was a disappointing night for the 24-year-old Miss USA, Rima Fakih, the first Muslim-American to be Miss USA. She didn't make the final fifteen.
But she's getting some big support from pageant owner Donald Trump over her outspoken stand against the construction of the mosque near ground zero.
Trump said, "I think that what she did was very brave. She is Muslim. She came out with a statement that she loves her religion but at the same time the mosque should not be built there. I happen to agree with her. I think it's very insensitive having it built there."
Pageant host Bret Michaels also weighed in, saying, "I respect her for her feelings. That's why we live in the United States. We got this freedom to say what we want to say."
But for now, all eyes are on that stunner from south of the border.
