Motel Surveillance Footage Reveals Movie Theater Shooter's Final Hours

The final hours of John Russel Houser have been released before his massacre inside a Louisiana movie theater.
The final hours of the Louisiana movie theater shooter have been revealed in newly-released surveillance video from the Motel 6 where he was staying.
The footage, first shared by Entertainment Tonight, shows John Russel Houser smiling and chatting at the front desk with a coffee cup before his rampage. The video shows no threat of the violence that is to come.

Front desk clerk Vikas Patel said: "He minded his own business. He did what he had to do and that's basically it."
The video also shows Houser returning from a day at the racetrack and calmly walking through the Motel 6 hallway to his room.
The day of the killings, he is seen leaving in his Lincoln Town Car at 6:41 pm.
The film, Trainwreck, started at the Lafayette movie theater half an hour later. It was there that he opened fire on movie-goers, killing two young women and injuring nine more people before taking his own life.
After the killings, the inside of his room was found to be in disarray.
The beds were unmade, the TV was still on and bottles of liquor and clothes were strewn throughout.
Roger Boutwell, a retired doctor, knew Houser since childhood and had seen his volatile side.
He told INSIDE EDITION: “He was nuts. He was off-the-wall nuts. He could go off at any moment. He would be calm, cool and collected at one moment, next moment he'd be a raging maniac. He was always getting into fights.”
