Some Theaters Showing 'Straight Outta Compton' Beef Up Security

Some theaters across the country are beefing up security showing the film 'Straight Outta Compton.'
The movie Straight Outta Compton, a biopic on the notorious rap group, N.W.A.,opens this weekend and some theaters across the country are beefing up security.
The movie’s studio, Universal, says they will “support” theaters who are adding extra security for the film.

"The studio has not solicited enhanced security for theaters who will begin showing it this weekend, but has partnered with those exhibitors who have requested support for their locations," a Universal spokesperson said.
The film opens in the wake of two movie patrons killed in a Louisiana theater showing the comedy Trainwreck and the demonstrations against police tactics in Ferguson, Missouri, a year after unarmed teen, Michael Brown, was shot and killed by a police officer.

LAPD spokesperson Jack Richter told Variety: “In light of everything that’s going on, we are dispatching additional officers to theaters that are showing the film. It’s a combination of anticipating potential problems and responding to requests from theater owners.”
The film, which centers around “The World’s Most Dangerous Group” and their rise to fame with songs like “Straight Outta Compton” and “F*** Tha Police.”
Despite some security concerns, Straight Outta Compton is expected to lead the box office this weekend and took in nearly $5 million on it's opening night.
