“I am sincerely sorry that I have disappointed so many with my actions," she said. "I just want to thank my family. My husband is here, Joe. I have three children and they are amazing.”
She added: “My husband and I have been receiving counsel from family and close friends and marriage counselors.”
Both Gamrat and Courser are Tea Party Republicans and shared an office together.
Courser tried to cover up the affair but is now fessing up and issued a public apology in a recording.
He said: “I've let so many people down, but there's also another group, excuse me that I need to ask for forgiveness from and that is Representative Gamrat and her family and especially her husband.”
