A woman has proposed to her girlfriend under water after secretly learning how to scuba dive.
Markie Miller became certified so that she could surprise her long-term girlfriend Sarah – a marine biologist and experienced diver – and pop the question while they were underwater.
Surrounded by friends, Markie went beneath the waves to find Sarah before holding up a series of signs, a video shows.

“I told you I’d go to the bottom of the ocean for your love,” read one sign, followed by another: “But right now I’m only certified to 60 feet.”
She then added: “Will you marry me?”
Sarah signaled yes and the couple hugged.
After emerging from the ocean, Markie got down on one knee and presented her girlfriend with an engagement ring.
