Images of a smoking toddler sent shockwaves around the world. Now the 2-year-old's parents have put him in rehab to end to his smoking habit. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.
Who can forget the jaw-dropping video of this 2-year-old toddler puffing away like crazy on cigarette after cigarette?
There was worldwide outrage sparked by the two-pack-a-day smoking habit of chubby-faced Aldi, who lives in Indonesia.
Now Aldi has gone to rehab.
That's right, a 2-year-old in rehab.
A just-released video shows him in a state of misery as his mother leads him by the hand into a rehab clinic. He even throws a tantrum and bangs his head on the floor when they won't give him a cigarette!
He was given a battery of medical tests, including a chest x-ray. An ultrasound showed a thickening on the left wall of his heart.
Aldi was in rehab a full month and he has now been reunited with his mom, supposedly cured.
Children smoking cigarettes is a big problem in Indonesia. More than 30 percent of children there smoke a cigarette before the age of 10.
Now, Aldi faces the battle every ex-smoker knows all too well. Can he resist temptation, or will he slip back into his chain-smoking habit?
