Cops: Man Gets DUI For Obstructing Traffic With His Motorized Wheelchair
A Florida man was arrested for DUI while in his motorized wheelchair because he was blocking traffic.
Ronny Scott Hicks, 54, already had two prior DUI convictions, none involving a wheelchair, when he was arrested in Palm Bay on Monday, cops said.
Police were called the scene after reports of an intoxicated man obstructing bridge traffic, according to reports.
When cops arrived, they said Hicks smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech. The man didn’t follow authorities’ instructions and refused a breathalyzer test, according to reports.
