After Trump Scores SNL's Highest Ratings in Years, Son Eric Says His Dad is a Natural

Eric Trump is praising his dad's humor following his hosting duties at 'SNL' over the weekend.

Donald Trump's appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend brought the show its highest ratings in nearly four years.

“We did a great job, got great reviews, we're very happy,” the GOP presidential hopeful told reporters as he left the after-party at 3 a.m.

SNL cast member Colin Jost told INSIDE EDITION that Trump had no problem poking fun at himself.

“He had a great sense of humor about everything. He's a good dude, I like him,” he said. “It's always nice to see someone in a different way.”

Taran Killam was brave enough to perform his Trump impersonation in front of the man himself.

“He said he loved when I did it,” he said. “It's very nice, very flattering.”

After the show, Eric Trump told INSIDE EDITION his dad was more than up to the challenge.

“He's a man with a great sense of humor," he said. "He's funny at home, he loves to laugh, we love to laugh, and he’s kind of in his element there.”

During the show, Larry David provided one of the night's funniest moments - and managed to collect $5,000.

A Latino advocacy group offered $5,000 to anyone who disrupted the show by declaring “Donald Trump is a Racist" - so David did just that.

The group tweeted:

Before the show, protesters outside NBC studios called on the network to "Dump Trump" because of his controversial remarks on immigration.

Fresh off his hosting duties, Trump was back on the attack Sunday morning, speaking out about political rival Dr. Ben Carson's description of his violent past.

“When you are talking about hitting your mother over the head with a hammer and hitting a friend in the face with a lock, with a padlock, and stabbing somebody, those are pretty tough charges. I just don't know what to think,” Trump said.

The duo will square off with the other Republican candidates at Tuesday night's GOP debate in Milwaukee.
